P90X - Round 2 Day 88 Core Synergistics Day 89 YogaX

Core Synergistics - I definitely feel better in phase 3 of this round vs. at the end of phase 2.  Really concentrated on my form and concentrating on my core.  1 more day and I’m done with Round 2! 

Day 89…okay either I think I may have screwed up on the numbering the days on my blog, or I screwed round 1..lol, b/c I have today down as Day 89 and round 1 I had it as day 90..hmmm…..I know I didn’t miss a workout so I know I screwed up the numbering somehow.  YogaX, so I did this routine a little later than I usually complete it.  I played with my son, while letting my wife sleep in a bit..its xmas eve after all. 

YogaX - I really enjoyed this today, I felt like I had great form throughout and I cleared my mind of everything.  I thought I’d dog it a bit since its my last day, but I brought it.  Tomorrow is actually XStretch, but I’ll probably opt out and rest.

Pictures tomorrow - hopefully I see a difference b/w day 1 of round 2…I’ll weigh in, but I haven’t lost any weight, but I am definitely stronger so we’ll see what’s what.

P90X - Round 2 Day 87 XStretch

Day 87 - 3 days to go!  I completed Xstretch since this is recovery week.  I used to do this until phase 3 of round 1 - then I decided to use Xstretch as a rest day.  You forget how many stretches there are - and how relaxing it is.  Yep - 1 hour of stretching.  Good stuff…core synergistics tomorrow - actually looking forward to it. 

Damn the holiday foods and chocolates and other bad crap lying around the office staring you in the face “Eat Me”, all of the pot luck lunches…..haahaa - will power, gotta stay strong!

P90X - Round 2 Day 86 KenpoX

Last KenpoX this round - used the 3 lbs dumbbells during the 1st segment of punches again.  I can really feel it in my shoulders (hmm, hopefully that is where i should be feeling it).  Kicks were good, higher, better form.  What else can I say, this round is almost over =D…

Holidays and birthday coming up - good timing for my second round to end.  Looking forward to taking a break and deciding what to do next.  Xstretch tomorrow - awesome.

P90X - Round 2 Day 85 Core Synergistics

Core Synergistics - awesome, worked up a good sweat.  Unlike the last time I did this, I didn’t feel like I was struggling (think it had to do with Thanksgiving and the holidays).  I really could feel my core this time around and focused on keeping it tight throughout the routine.  Looking forward to doing this routine again in a couple of days.  Almost there - gotta keep pressing play.  Hmmm..If I take a week off and start another round it’ll be on January 2 - pretty good timing….

P90X - Round 2 Day 82 YogaX

Yoga - just what i needed at the end of the week.  Remember I swapped KenpoX and YogaX days.  Yes Yoga is still too long, but I enjoyed it today.  I needed to stretch out.  I still get a lot of shi* from my buddies about doing yoga - little do they know…this isn’t just simple balance postures…its tough as hell.  But over time you do appreciate it - especially as you get better at it.  2 more times next week and I’m done…yes!

Side note, the Washington Redskins just wasted two draft picks on Donovan Mcnabb and gave him $3.1M when they gave him an extension 2 or 3 weeks ago…WTF!  Man its going to be painful and take a lot of time before we are a good team.

P90X - Round 2 Day 82 Legs & Back

My last Legs & Back for this round - Suhweeet!!! Let’s just say I’m happy I won’t be doing this for a couple of weeks at least.  I was able to do the same number of pull ups as the last time, but I really wasn’t feeling it today.  Maybe b/c this round is almost over….whew, just in time for the holidays and my birthday….then I’ll do round 3 or insanity.  I’ll post my day 180 results…hoping it shows some difference since day 1 of round 2…how can it not right?  I’m definitely stronger, leaner, but personally I don’t too much difference in definition….we’ll see.

Snowing in D.C. - damn hope it won’t be another crz winter here on the east coast…not like the record season we had last year…

P90X - Round 2 Day 79 Plyometrics

A little busy yesterday, so didn’t have a chance to post.  Plyometrics, remembering back to the 1st round of P90X - I modified a lot.  My knee and ankle gave me a lot of issues, and yeah I dogged it on a few routines.  Second round different story, no doggin it, I only modify one routine “hot-foot” b/c my knee still bothers me on that one..and its actually kind of fun.  Hard but fun. 

I’ve been asked “does P90X get any easier?”.  My answer, over time some routines get easier, but others will always be tough as you up weights and/or reps, have better form, etc.  Its a good thing though, that’s what makes P90X so…AwEsOme - you are constantly being challenged or bring new ways to challenge yourself.  KenpoX for instance - I now use 3lb dumbbells during the first segment.

P90X - Day 77 & Day 78 Xstretch - Chest Shoulders and Triceps

Day 77 - rest, nuff said….

Day 78 - Chest, Shoulders and Triceps - tough workout, slow-mo pushups, two-twitch push ups, y-press, the list goes on and on.  For a couple of the moves, I did less reps than the time before - not really sure why.  The last time I do this routine for a while.  Still debating b/w another round of p90x, insanity or should I get the P90X one on one.  Damn - decisions, decisions.

Side note - The Redskins lost again!!!!

P90X - Round 76 YogaX

Yoga - crushed it today!  Felt good throughout - it really does make a difference if you are calm and can push alll your thoughts out of your head.  Yes I know its hard to do, but if you can do it - then Yoga can be very relaxing.  Its a like-hate with Yoga, next week I’ll probably hate it.  Anyways, I did really well with the warrior 3, half moon, and twisting half moon. 

Resting tomorrow - and then my last full resistance week then recovery week and 2x p90x grad!  Awesome.

P90X - Round 2 Day 75 Legs & Back & AbripperX

I still dread this day, but during round 2 I definitely have seen improvements in form and leg strength and yes even improvements on the pull-ups.  Do I like doing pull-ups?  No, I still don’t like doing them, but I can definitely do more.  Only 15 days to go until the end of this round!  I’m hoping the pics will show some improvement.  Yeah I know don’t pay attention to the scale, pay attention to how your clothes fit.  I can’t help it, I guess I want the gratification that comes from seeing the scale tip lower. 

AbripperX - I’m glad I can do the whole routine (maybe not the best form ever) but I still try to push this off as much as I can…though, like most of the workouts, I am glad I pressed play.  Tired from the long week…One more day until the weekend, and YogaX tomorrow.

Hi my name is Rex, I'm a new father. My wife and I had quit the gym b/c my son was born 2 months early. We didn't have the time, our son was in the NICU and PICU for about 40 days. Being a new father, working full-time, I had slacked off from working out and it was it showing. So I got off my as* and decided to make a change.

I want to share my experience and I hope to help motivate others to a better, healthier life.
